Online Forms
Providing forms online
Overview
Australian Government departments and agencies are required to implement the Online Content Requirements on their websites. These require that various types of information be provided online, and that all forms for public use be provided online.
Business cases, including costs and benefits, the nature of client groups and other factors will determine the types of online forms agencies provide to their clients.
Online provision of forms might:
- involve forms that can be printed out by clients, filled in by hand and submitted via the post;
- online forms could be provided in formats that can be filled in online, then printed out and submitted via the post; or
- online forms can be provided that can be filled out and submitted online.
To further assist agencies in providing forms online, we have produced Better Practice Checklist 1 - Providing Forms Online.
