Overview
This category refers to the provision of multiple channels of data over a single internet medium. It includes the use of a wide range of multimedia within web sites. Multimedia may include video-streaming, audio-streaming, movies/videos or audio files, and others.
Examples of Better Practice in Multimedia Services
Australian Government:
- The Parliament of Australia web site hosts live webcasting of proceedings of the Senate and House of Representatives debates as well as selected committee hearings.
- The Australian Film Television and Radio School's web site includes a virtual tour of the school online, and listings of students' work in the form of QuickTime movies.
- National Museum of Australia provides interactive games to play.
Other Australian Governments:
- The Performing Arts Collection of South Australia comprises an extensive collection of information and images of artefacts from various performing arts genres including opera, dance, music, music theatre, circus and vaudeville.
