Sales
The provision of goods for purchase online
Overview
Australian Government departments and agencies are required to provide all appropriate services online. The services provided online may involve goods or services that are available for purchase. These goods or services can include publications, data sets, images, objects, advice and information.
To further assist agencies in the provision of items for sale online, we have produced Better Practice Checklist 5 - Providing an Online Sales Facility
Examples of Better Practice in Online Sales
- The Australian War Memorial provides the facility to browse and buy Australian military history books, gifts and souvenirs, and choose from over 200,000 photographs.
- The National Library of Australia has an online shop which features a shopping basket facility. Large size pictures of merchandise are available and orders can be made online.
