Information Management Strategy Committee

Providing shared leadership on multi-agency and whole-of-government ICT governance and investment

Overview

The Information Management Strategy Committee (IMSC) was established as a result of a recommendation outlined in the 'Australian Government Use of Information and Communications Technology: A New Governance and Investment Framework' report.  This report was released as a Management Advisory Committee (MAC) report on 15 October 2002.

The IMSC, with the support of its Chief Information Officer (CIO) Committee, oversaw these initiatives.

The IMSC comprised of members at Secretary or CEO level and was chaired by Dr Ian Watt, the Secretary of the then Department of Finance and Deregulation.  The membership was drawn from agencies that have key central roles or major responsibility for delivering services online.  The following agencies were represented on the IMSC:

The IMSC  was replaced by the Secretaries' Committee on ICT (SCICT) in June 2006.
