As part of the Government Online strategy-released in April 2000-all Commonwealth departments and agencies were required to prepare Online Action Plans by 30 September 2000. These plans set out each department's and agency's strategies for ensuring that all suitable services will be provided online by the end of 2001.
Each plan should include information about services to be placed online, implementation strategies, and approaches to ensuring that standards are reached.
This seminar focussed on the experiences that a number of Commonwealth departments and agencies had whilst preparing their plans and implementing their online strategies. Some very useful organisational lessons were shared through presentations from several agency representatives who discussed the approaches taken, and the solutions they developed to address the challenges they faced.
