Information Management Strategy Committee and Chief Information Officer Committee Update

Half Day Seminar

About this Seminar

This seminar provided an update to Government Managers on progress made by the Information Management Strategy Committee (IMSC), Chief Information Officer Committee (CIOC) and Working Groups since their formation in late 2002. It was particularly relevant for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and their equivalents, as well as senior agency staff not represented on either the Committee or Working Groups.

Much of the work of the IMSC, the CIOC and Working Groups includes the development of effective whole-of-government approaches to Information Communications Technology investment and governance. There is an increasing demand for government to provide more integrated and interactive information and services. In order to enable seamless and consistent services across government, agencies must work together to ensure that their individual systems are compatible and can be linked.

The seminar outlined the achievements of the IMSC and the CIOC in developing shared approaches to standards, infrastructure, security, collaboration in procurement and the better uses of government intellectual property.
