Web Services: technology for integration and efficient communication

Half Day Seminar

About this Seminar

Web services are emerging as a flexible way of facilitating interoperability between computer systems and revitalising legacy systems.  Based around a group of standards that build on the benefits of the Internet and related technologies, web services provide an extraordinary opportunity for integrating services across public and private sector organisations. They are being used to quickly build programs and bridge gaps between disparate applications and operating systems.

NOIE is drawing on the knowledge of respected industry analysts and e-business advisers to present the latest information on the deployment of web services in Australia and analyse technology trends in this area.

At this Seminar, participants learnt about developments in government interoperability, latest developments in web services, and were presented with a case study from the Australian Taxation Office.
